Marine Cove Gardens

Marine Cove is situated on the Esplanade in Burnham-on-Sea, with less than a 2 minute walk to the Victorian town centre. The garden, since the 1920s has been used and enjoyed by families visiting the garden to look at the fish, take in the floral displays or eat picnics, sheltered behind the boundary walls offering protection from the sea breeze or to just take a pause from their busy lives and read a book in this unique seafront garden.

Thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund, Viridor, Burnham and Highbridge Town Council and Sedgemoor District Council , restoration was completed of the garden in 2011 and now sees the replacement Cherub central within the garden, new water feature and sun dial, restored paving, benches and shelters, for visitors to rest or take shelter in.

The Friends of Marine Cove play an important role having supported the bid application and now are busy maintaining the garden, caring for the fish and pond, producing designs for the planting of the sunset beds aswell as hosting events throughout the year. Sedgemoor works hard with the volunteers and community groups to ensure that Marine Cove is enjoyed by all for years to come. The garden is small but beautifully formed and like the old saying goes "all good things come in small packages".
