Millennium Country Park

The Forest Centre & Millennium Country Park is the flagship site in the Forest of Marston Vale and a fantastic example of environmental regeneration. Old brick pits and arable farmland have been transformed into a diverse mix of woodland, grassland, lakes and wetland habitats for everyone to enjoy.
For walkers or cyclists, there is 8km of traffic free, surfaced cycle paths and footpaths. If you don’t have a bicycle then rent one from our cycle hire. Riders can enjoy a 4km designated horse trail. The playground and sensory wildlife garden will appeal to children of all ages.
Get yourself a ticket to explore the Wetlands Nature Reserve. In this quiet area you can spot birds from the hides, wildflowers in the meadows and much more. Follow the surfaced trail on a wildlife safari to find out facts and play environmental games.
The Forest Centre has a cafe, gift shop and thriving conference facilities to suit everyone. In the Lakeside Café you can relax and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine with delicious local food freshly prepared in our kitchen.

The Forest Centre & Millennium Country Park is owned and operated by the Forest of Marston Vale Trust, the small environmental charity dedicated to using trees and woodlands to transform this part of Bedfordshire to create the Forest of Marston Vale.

Our biggest fundraising event of the year with something for all ages!
75’ Inflatable Obstacle Course, Go-karting, Nerf Zone, Tots Corner, Inflatable , Dome, Ladybird and Tea Cup rides, Climbing Wall, Land Zorbs, Animal encounters with Animal Edge who are bringing their small animal petting zoo, including a Shetland Ponies, Pigs, Goats, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and Chickens.
Nature Trail, Kids’ Crafts, Tombolas, Dog Show, Stalls, Grand Raffle, BBQ…
Plus come and meet Catboy and Owlette from PJ Masks at intervals throughout the day!

Enjoy breakfast in the Lakeside Café between 9 - 10am, before the Forest Centre is open to the public, and before the Forest Family Fun Day kicks off!
Prices include a breakfast box and juice for children or a bacon/sausage or egg bap with unlimited tea or coffee for adults. Catboy and Owlette from PJ Masks will also be making a guest appearance during the breakfast.

Captain Alice will be hosting X Marks the Spot workshops, before taking you out on the first half of the Trail, guiding you through the Park with your very own compass, to find the plaques in your Trail booklet. This is a unique opportunity to learn about maps and cartography from an expert, as well as exploring the Park in a totally new way!
Suitable for ages 4 - 10.

The guided part of the session lasts approx. 30 minutes, but you can continue on to do the whole trail and take as long as you like! Sessions are at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm and cost £5 per child which includes your Symbol Spot Trail Pack. Booking and parental supervision essential. Parking charges apply.

Join us on our search for dragonflies and other minibeasts in the Park and make your own dragonfly to take home! Wear long trousers, avoid open toed sandals and make sure you have suncream and a sun hat just in case!
Suitable for ages 5 - 10.
Sessions last approx. 1hr 15 mins and are at 9.45am, 11.30am and 1.45pm and cost £4.50 per child. Booking and parental supervision essential.
