Highdown Gardens

A hidden gem of the South Downs, Highdown Gardens is the achievement of Sir Frederick and Lady Stern who worked for 50 years proving that plants would grow on chalk. The garden has now been deemed a National Plant Collection due to its unique collation of rare plants and trees. With beautiful views to the sea in front, and across the downs behind, tearooms and children's nature trails this is a garden well worth visiting at any time of the year. Each season brings something new to Highdown.
