Alexandra Park (Hastings)
Alexandra Park is 44 hectares in size and is situated in the middle of Hastings. It follows a natural valley for up to 2.5 kilometres. The park is easily accessible to over 60% of the town's 85,000 population and offers a diverse landscape, much of which benefits from its rich heritage. It benefited from a £3.5million Heritage Lottery-funded restoration which was completed in 2004 and following its opening by Charlie Dimmock, has seen huge numbers of visitors since. The park originally landscaped in 1878-82 by eminent landscape gardener Robert Marnock offers a rich variety of features including: Water bodies, ancient woodland, wooded gills, sports and games areas, playgrounds, events area, important tree collection, formal/informal beds, peace garden and cafe.
