Victoria Embankment Gardens
The gardens which are located in the south of the City on the Victoria Embankment have won five Green Flags and serve day time office workers, tourists, local residents and people who come from around London seven days a week to enjoy the facilities and the performances at the bandstand. The Gardens comprise of formal lawns, extensive floral bedding displays, herbaceous planting and shrubbery to provide greater habitat value and diversity with mature trees. There are two ornamental pools, one with fish. The gardens have many fine statues including the York House Water Gate that dates from the early 1600's. During the summer there are concerts. A cafe, provides light refreshments and sitting area. Throughout the gardens are benches for relaxation.
