Ilford War Memorial

Whilst it would be perhaps inappropriate to describe Ilford War Memorial as a leisure facility, it certainly has a number of features that appeal to local residents.

Its formal gardens are provided to enable quiet reflection and remembrance.

The site hosts the largest corporate and community remembrance service in the borough, substantiating its position within the community.

There is a dedicated ‘action group’ (Ilford War Memorial Gardens Action Group) who keep a close eye on the area and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

The Borough has a number of plans for improvements to the site within the next five years with the expectation that these improvements will come to fruition well within this timeframe.

The Ilford War Memorial Gardens Action Group have actively been involved with the development of this site and also commited hundreds of voluntary hours delivering improvements. This is truly a community space.
