Hartley Wintney

Hartley Wintney has a multitude of beautiful Commons, ranging from Central Common with its majestic oak trees, Cricketers Green, one of the oldest pitches in the country, Hunts Common with its traditional orchard and Phoenix Green with its wooded paths and magnificent veteran Oaks.

This beautiful common, managed by Hart Countryside Service is a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) the whole area is included in this designation and denotes that it is of county importance for its nature conservation interest.

The area is well used for local recreation and is an important community asset for health and wellbeing. This green space boast a host of heritage features and has its own history trail. The rangers work with community groups to put on activities in the area for people who want to get more involved, these include guided walks and conservation volunteer days.
