Clandon Wood Nature Reserve and Burial Ground

Conceived as a Burial Reserve but designed as a Nature Reserve, Clandon Wood Surrey Hills is unlike any other place that you will have visited.

Lying at the foot of the Surrey Hills, and nestling between the villages of East and West Clandon, Clandon Wood Natural Burial Ground is a cemetery for our time. Contrary to perceptions, it is very much a living place

Public events are held throughout the year that allows Clandon Wood to also be used for community events, family gatherings, wildlife tours and education as well as the obvious use for funeral and memorial services, reflection and quiet recreation.

Set in 31 acres of wild grass and flower meadows with two lakes, wetland and young broad-leaf trees, our beautiful glass-walled pavilion is the perfect setting for an unforgettable ceremony, while outside the ever-changing landscape offers the ideal tranquil resting place.

Many who have chosen this place to bury someone they love have a real sense of belonging, often calling in for tea and a chat after visiting the grave and sharing their memories.

Cared for by a small, passionate team Clandon Wood is calm, unhurried, relaxed and informal. It is a special place, with a special feeling that is both inspirational and sustainable. Whatever your faith, belief or thinking, there is this real sense of belonging - it is in fact, a place to celebrate life.
