Green Flag Award is delighted that Jenifer White, Historic England's National Landscape Advisor has received an MBE in the King's New Year Honours. Jenifer has responsibility for historic parks and gardens, conservation planning policy, advice, research and standards.
Since 2003 Historic England has supported the Green Heritage Site Accreditation and helped those responsible for managing our parks to understand, conserve and promote the heritage value.
Paul Todd, Green Flag Award Manager said: "Jenifer could not be more deserving of this Honour. The advice and support she provides not only to the Green Flag Award but to the thousands of dedicated staff and volunteers who care for our historic parks and gardens is invaluable. It is fitting that Jenifer's work has been rewarded and we send her our congratulations"
Many of our historic parks and gardens remain under threat from lack of resources or inappropriate development. The importance of Historic England and the work of people such as Jenifer is now more important than ever.
