Dundonald Recreation Ground (also known as Dundonald Park)

Dundonald Recreation Ground is a very popular park situated within a pleasant residential area close to Wimbledon town centre. It offers a large playing field area that supports a variety of sports, especially football and cricket, a bowling green, pavilion, tennis courts and an enclosed playground for children.

The park is located next to Dundonald Primary School, but is used by children and families from all over Wimbledon. It has some innovative new playground equipment, installed in 2010.

The Friends of Dundonald Park is an active group, which comprises people from the local community who promote the use and well-being of the park and carry out practical projects, including tree planting, in the park.

The park also has a small rose garden with ornamental wishing well near one of its main entrances.

The park is used extensively for sports throughout the year, with many football and cricket teams as regular users. It is also a popular place for joggers and people seeking to improve their personal health and fitness.

It is a busy park, which nevertheless, provides a welcome haven from the hustle and bustle of nearby Wimbledon Broadway with its wide array of shops, bars and restaurants and well regarded by local residents and its users. It is currently undergoing building works connected to the adjoining primary school - Dundonald Primary School.
