Greenhill Gardens

With parks providing the perfect location for families to relax, Greenhill Gardens, Weymouth, has been recognised as one of the country’s best green spaces.

Green Flag Awards recognise and reward the best parks in the country and Greenhill Gardens stood out after impressing the judges with their excellent use of green space, well-maintained facilities and high standard of safety and security.

This is the 15th consecutive year that Greenhill Gardens has been recognised for the award.

Only green spaces that are free to enter and open to the public are eligible to win an award through the scheme, which is run by environmental charities Keep Britain Tidy, BTCV and GreenSpace.

Cllr David, Chair of Services Committee, said: “I am delighted that Greenhill Gardens has been recognised for being one of the best green spaces in the country. The Gardens provide residents and visitors with a welcoming and attractive open space, which helps to improve the quality of life in Weymouth; these awards are a testament to the Council’s continued efforts to deliver value for money and keep our town looking beautiful. I take it as a compliment to both Friends group and Council staff who have worked so hard in order to maintain these awards year after year, and would like to offer my sincere thanks to all involved.”
