Pools Brook Country Park, at 165 acres, is Chesterfields’ largest park. It offers something for everybody with miles of trails, extensive woodland plantations, meadows, lakes, childrens’ play areas and wildlife habitats.
Visitor facilities include community-run cafe, toilets, baby changing facilities, outdoor gym equipment and free parking. There are large play areas, with equipment suitable for children of all ages, adjacent to the visitor centre and overlooking Markham Lake.
Walkers, cyclist and horse riders will enjoy the extensive network of trails passing lakes, meadows and woodlands.
The park lies to the east of Chesterfield, between Poolsbrook and Staveley with the main entrance being off Pavilion Drive (S43 3LH). It is easily accessible from junction 29A of the M1 or from the A619 Chesterfield to Worksop Road.
The park is open to pedestrians 24 hours a day all year round and closes at dusk to vehicles.
