Park Friends and Pendle Council staff are
delighted to have held onto their eight Green Flag Awards for
another year.
The eight parks which have retained their
Green Flag Award status for being beautifully maintained and with
excellent facilities are Marsden and Victoria &Walverden Parks
in Nelson, Alkincoats and Ball Grove Parks in Colne, Heyhead Park
in Brierfield and Valley Gardens in Barnoldswick.
Councillor Nadeem Ahmed who leads on
parks said: "It's fantastic that we've been recognised for our top
quality parks, meeting the high standards demanded by Keep Britain
Tidy's Green Flag Award scheme.
"We entered eight parks for the prestigious Green Flag Awards and
all eight sites retained their awards.
"The awards are a great tribute to our
hard-working staff, dedicated Park Friends and volunteers who make
a big difference.
"Our parks are a huge asset to Pendle as
people of all ages can enjoy them for free and I urge people to
come and explore them."
Details on each park including free
