Of the 27 English universities that are in the top 100 of the world's best universities, six of them hold at least one Green Flag Award for their sites. These universities are:
- University of Exeter (which holds two awards)
- Lancaster University
- University of York
- University of Nottingham (which holds two awards)
- University of Reading
- Newcastle University
The full list of UK universities flying the prestigious Green Flag Award this year can be found here. The Green Flag Award recognises that the site's green spaces are well maintained, thoughtfully sustainably managed and welcoming, amongst other criteria.
If you work at a university and are currently looking at making your facility even more appealing to students, funders and your local community, we are running free one day seminars at two of our Green Flag Award universities.
They are an opportunity to hear about how the Green Flag Award scheme can help you develop and maintain beautiful green spaces around your campus. You will also be able to speak to other Green Flag winning sites on how they have achieved this international standard and share best practice. Find out more and book your free spaces now.
