Pasley Park

Pasley Park is an important local park in an area which is subject to rapid change. It is located between the busy Walworth and Kennington Park Roads in the London Borough of Southwark and provides a welcome green haven for local people from the surrounding built environment.
It is an extremely well-used park and offers space and facilities for informal recreation and play and for people to relax or walk their dogs. Surrounded by housing and a primary school and close to a church and underground station, the Park is a central hub for the community and forms part of the green link of parks which connects local people to key destinations and acts as “green lungs” for the Walworth/Kennington area. Walworth Garden (the local gardening charity) is an important neighbour and partner.
Pasley Park benefits from an active Friends group who have obtained funding and contributed to a number of improvement projects, in partnership with Southwark Council and other local groups. They hold regular activities and events in the Park, including the popular summer fete and dog show. The master plan for Pasley Park draws on its history as the site of the Royal Surrey Zoological gardens and forms the basis for the current programme and future improvements to the Park.
