Haddo Country Park

Haddo Country Park, located in central Aberdeenshire approximately 30 km north of Aberdeen and near Ellon, is a site of great historical, cultural, and natural significance. It covers an area of 108.8 ha and consists of a country park (97.4 ha), the historic Haddo House and formal gardens (7.8 ha), historic monuments, and areas used by local businesses, such as a café and outdoor nursery.

The park is a vital resource for the local community and its approximately 300,000 annual visitors. It offers a mosaic of woodland, grassland, and wetland habitats, recreational opportunities, and educational experiences. Haddo is an extremely popular attraction and community hub.

Haddo Country Park is distinguished by its Victorian-designed landscape, created by the renowned landscape architect James Gilles under the direction of the 4th Earl of Aberdeen. This landscape includes expansive grasslands, mature woodlands, and tranquil wetlands, each contributing to the park's unique character, ecological value, and aesthetic.
