Southern Necropolis

Friends of Southern Necropolis strive to preserve and promote the many historical, educational and environmental assets of the Southern Necropolis cemetery, in the Gorbals area of Glasgow. The cemetery is a unique window on time to the rich historical past of Glasgow, and stands as a special green space for the community and visitors alike. We carry out regular weekly Meet / Greet Litter Picks, Enhancement Projects (Recent project being our Remembrance Rockery area). Yearly we deliver our Easter Egg/History Hunt, 10k Health Walk, Summer Solstice/Celebrating the Circles of Life Session, Halloween Outdoor Cinema, Always & Forever (Absent Friends) event, Remembrance Sunday Poppy Walk and monthly Tour Talk & Cuppa session and On Site Heritage Trail throughout the cemetery and more recently additional monthly Saturday Seated Yoga/Mindfulness Sessions
