Falsgrave Park
Falsgrave Park is a people's park, popular and much loved by its local community. It is a green oasis in a dense residential area near the centre of Scarborough and provides something for everyone. Amongst its wide variety of features are a large children's play area, open grassland, wildflower meadows, woodland walks, and a stone circle. It is particularly noted for its stunning views across the town to the Castle and the sea beyond.
The Friends of Falsgrave Park work with the Council in managing the park, hold a variety of events and activities throughout the year, and help fundraise for improvement projects. Their events and activities include Easter egg rolling, Halloween 'Park in the Dark', bulb planting and hay raking. Improvement projects they have carried out include the restoration of a historic Conduit House linked to the spring that supplied the drinking water to Scarborough from the 14th century, wildlife interpretation panels and improvements to the park's entrances.
The park has something to see at all times of year, from the winter garden and spring daffodil displays to summer meadows and autumn tree colour. In snowy conditions it provides some of the best sledging in the area. Falsgrave Park is a park full of life and just waiting for you to visit.
