Sconce & Devon Parks

Sconce and Devon Park is a Town Park in the heart of Newark on Trent. Bordered on one side by the beautiful River Devon it has something for everyone with a range of habitats including flood meadow, wetlands and woodlands.
The well-equipped play area sits next to our main building containing public toilets, Rangers Office and Rumbles Cafe. The play space incorporates accessible play equipment including a wheelchair accessible roundabout and swings.
Elsewhere you'll find outdoor gym equipment and the historic Queens Sconce a Civil War Defensive Earthwork and listed Historic Monument.
Hawton Halt is our education space which contains our active bee hives, classroom space, historic well, polytunnel and conservation areas. For access to this space please contact the park ranger.
