Victoria Park (Salford)

Victoria Park is a formal Victorian park, situated on a busy bus route on Manchester Road, Swinton. A free car park is situated off Swinton Hall Road. The park is over one hundred years old and is carefully managed to reflect its Victorian heritage and to cater for the contemporary needs of the diverse local community. First awarded Green Flag status in 2005 it has been a municipal park for more than 100 years. There are facilities for all ages, including tennis, crown green bowling, a children's play area, and a multi-use games area. The Friends group play a key role in the development of the park and organise events. In recent years significant efforts have been made to improve access to the park and to both improve and increase the facilities contained within. This has included, new entrance gates, installation of a new car park and re-surfacing of the path system, playground improvements and the installation of a Multi Use Games Area.
