Victoria Park (Tipton)

Victoria Park covers over 13 hectares and is the green heart of Tipton. The park has a diverse ethnic community bordering the park. It is an area of leisure and heritage within the West Midlands and attracts much local interest. A Green Flag Award demonstrates the Council's commitment to continuous improvements and local cultural activities associated with the park. The park provides a range of informal and formal recreational opportunities from passive and active recreation to children's play with a range of facilities for visitors and users. Recent years has seen a range of improvements to both the landscape, sports facilities and to the senior citizens building in order to retain and develop its local significance. We believe that Victoria Park Tipton meets the ongoing challenge for renewed Green Flag Award in that it demonstrates a range of quality experiences for local people. The Green Flag Award endorses the 'Friends of' work with diverse communities and each year we revise the actions in the management plan for the park. We will continue to invest in the park and the key principals that drive the investment is to conserve maintain and enhance the built and natural heritage for the benefit of future generations ands to strengthen the physical and cultural connections between the park and the people of Tipton.
