The Young, Green and Well Report

Young, Green and Well explores how parks and green spaces support the mental health and wellbeing of young people aged 16–25, while examining the barriers that can prevent them from accessing and enjoying these spaces.

Drawing on surveys and in-depth interviews with young Londoners, the report explores how young people use parks, what they value about green spaces, and how factors such as safety, accessibility, inclusivity and belonging influence their experiences. It highlights the important role that parks play in supporting wellbeing, social connection and everyday mental health.

A key focus of the report is ensuring that young people's voices are reflected in the planning, design and management of parks. It presents practical recommendations for local authorities, park managers, policymakers, health professionals and community organisations, encouraging greater collaboration with young people to create greener, safer and more welcoming public spaces.
